Inspiration for your movement and parenting journey.

What would you tell a new parent considering taking prenatal or Baby & Me yoga classes?
If you’re thinking about joining Prenatal or Baby & Me yoga—just go for it! Staying active is so important for both you and your baby, and these classes offer a safe, nurturing way to keep moving.
Beyond the physical benefits, you’ll find a wonderful community of people from all different backgrounds, sharing stories, support, and encouragement. Angela and her team are also deeply connected in the local birth and parenting community, making them an incredible resource for first-time moms. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made during my pregnancy.

Tapas – The Fire That Transforms
This July, we turn our focus inward to explore the concept of Tapas, one of the Niyamas in the yogic path, often translated as "discipline," "austerity," or more poetically, "the inner fire." Tapas is the heat that builds when we commit to a practice—especially when it’s uncomfortable. It’s what keeps us coming back to our mat, to our breath, and to ourselves when things feel overwhelming.

What would you tell a new parent considering taking prenatal or baby & me yoga classes?
Do it! I always encourage my friends to reach out and look for baby and me classes in their city! I love it so much I really wish I had gone while pregnant for the prenatal classes. The community benefits are so worth it!

Turning 40 is a milestone that invites reflection—and gratitude. As a yoga and movement teacher, mother of three, and lifelong student of life, here are 40 powerful lessons I’ve gathered over the years. These insights have come from personal growth, parenting, teaching yoga, and simply showing up—day after day—with an open heart.
Whether you’re preparing for parenthood, finding your community, or simply looking for guidance on your journey, I hope these truths offer light and connection.

What is the Difference Between Prenatal Yoga and Regular Yoga?
For many seasoned yogis, it can be tempting to continue with their regular yoga practice throughout pregnancy. While this may be perfectly fine for some, choosing a dedicated prenatal yoga class can offer unique benefits that are specifically designed for the journey of pregnancy. Let's explore the key differences and why prenatal yoga might be the best choice for you.

What have you learned since taking classes with PYLV?
Since taking classes with PYLV, I've learned that motherhood doesn’t have to be lonely. It’s been great connecting with other moms going through similar experiences.

March 2025 Student of the Month: Rachel
What have you learned since taking classes with PYLV?
I've learned that self care is more valuable than most people realize, and that growing a human inside of me and preparing for birth is essentially like training for a marathon. Prioritizing routine, and having PYLV push me just a little bit past my comfort level each time, has made me become the strongest I've ever been. I also attribute my relatively "boring" pregnancy to all the lessons I have learned through the PYLV community.

February 2025 Student of the Month: Karen & Kyle
When did you start taking classes with PYLV?
I started taking PYLV 2 weeks after I had Sora. I was looking up classes that the different hospitals offered and saw that Baby and Me Yoga was one of them! I have practiced yoga for many years and loved all the benefits it provides me. I thought it was a great idea to share that love of yoga with my baby. After attending the first class of Baby and Me Yoga, I shared how the experience went with my husband who also enjoys yoga. Kyle has regularly attended classes with Sora and me after that.

What is your favorite yoga pose?
I have so many favorite yoga poses but if I am to pick one…shavasana. The reason I choose shavasana is because thru my postnatal healing I have struggled with quieting my mind and letting go. Although it is not a physically challenging pose for me, it is mentally challenging and that is why I love it. I have learned to release and let go and relax my mind thru shavasana.
