July 2025 Student of the Month: Allison
Meet Allison
Hello! My name is Allison Arellano Zint. My husband and I are excitedly expecting our first child in July. I’m originally from the beautiful island of Saipan, located in the Northern Mariana Islands. I moved to Las Vegas about six years ago after completing my undergraduate studies in St. George, Utah, where I also met my husband.
Professionally, I work at Northwest Career College as a Graduate Team Manager. In this role, I help our graduates secure positions in their respective fields, and I find it incredibly fulfilling to support others as they transition into the next chapter of their professional lives.
When did you start taking classes with PYLV?
I started taking classes with Angela in November, shortly after finding out I was pregnant. A good friend of mine—who was also expecting—encouraged me to join. At the time, I was feeling overwhelmed by the flood of new information. PYLV provided me with a grounding outlet, a welcoming community, and a safe space to learn what to expect in the coming months.
What have you learned since taking classes with PYLV?
The most valuable thing I’ve learned is how to breathe intentionally. It may sound simple, but mindful breathing has helped me connect with my body in a deeper way and has become a powerful tool for calming my mind and managing physical challenges during pregnancy.
Angela’s classes have taught me how to listen to my body, give myself grace, and move through discomfort with awareness and ease. Every class is different and thoughtfully designed, offering modifications based on what your body might need that day. I always leave feeling more centered and supported.
What is your favorite yoga pose?
My favorite pose is Pigeon Pose. It has been a lifesaver for my sciatic pain, which has flared up throughout much of my pregnancy. Now that I’m in the final stretch of my third trimester, my pelvic floor discomfort has also increased, and poses like Pigeon have been essential in helping me release tension and find some much-needed relief.
What would you tell a new parent considering taking prenatal or Baby & Me yoga classes?
If you’re thinking about joining Prenatal or Baby & Me yoga—just go for it! Staying active is so important for both you and your baby, and these classes offer a safe, nurturing way to keep moving.
Beyond the physical benefits, you’ll find a wonderful community of people from all different backgrounds, sharing stories, support, and encouragement. Angela and her team are also deeply connected in the local birth and parenting community, making them an incredible resource for first-time moms. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made during my pregnancy.
