September 2025: Student of the Month Geneva

Meet Geneva

My name is Geneva Litman. I’ve been with my partner Sam Litman since 2008. We decided to enjoy life together for a while before getting married in 2021. We had our daughter Luna in 2023, and I never thought falling in love again could be possible, but she changed our minds on that one. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I went to school majoring in Dance and joining a dance company in Southern California for many years. My husband’s work at the time brought us to Las Vegas 12 years ago, and never would I have thought I would absolutely love this city.

When did you start taking classes with PYLV?

I started taking Luna to PYLV at Southern Hills Hospital when she was around 7 months old. I found out about it from other moms at the library. I honestly wish I knew about PYLV while I was still pregnant because, as a dancer since I was a baby myself, I’ve always believed exercise and movement with our bodies is so important for our health, good energy, and well-being.

What have you learned since taking classes with PYLV?

Since taking classes with PYLV, I’ve learned to be patient and breathe again. Now that Luna is going to be two next month, it’s been so rewarding watching her learn about the yoga practice and getting excited to do butterfly poses and Savasana. It gives us that moment to move with one another and clear our minds together.

What is your favorite yoga pose?

If I had to choose, my favorite poses are Bird of Paradise and Pigeon.

How has your practice impacted your parenting?

I’ve practiced yoga for almost two decades, and I personally believe it’s made me calmer, stronger, and kept me limber.

What would you tell a new parent considering taking prenatal or baby & me yoga classes?

To new moms looking to join, I cannot recommend it enough. Flavia is so knowledgeable, patient, and wonderful with the children. The babies & tots have such a great time moving and bonding. They really do pick up on poses from watching us. It’s amazing. You don’t have to be a Yogi expert. Stretching and strengthening your body alone is just an amazing feeling to the soul. I’ve also met very special moms, and it’s a great community to have here
