How has your practice impact your parenting?

Practicing yoga has made a positive impact on my parenting because it gives me extra tools to teach my kids. My daughter loves attending the TOT & Me class with Miss Flavia, and one of the big take aways for Belle is the breathing exercise (especially the breathing balls). So when Belle has big feelings, we utilize our breathing exercise from yoga to recenter ourselves.

What have you learned since taking classes with PYLV?

Since taking classes with PYLV, I’ve learned to be patient and breathe again. What would you tell a new parent considering taking prenatal or Baby & Me yoga classes?

If you’re thinking about joining Prenatal or Baby & Me yoga—just go for it! Staying active is so important for both you and your baby, and these classes offer a safe, nurturing way to keep moving.

Beyond the physical benefits, you’ll find a wonderful community of people from all different backgrounds, sharing stories, support, and encouragement. Angela and her team are also deeply connected in the local birth and parenting community, making them an incredible resource for first-time moms. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made during my pregnancy.

Tapas – The Fire That Transforms

This July, we turn our focus inward to explore the concept of Tapas, one of the Niyamas in the yogic path, often translated as "discipline," "austerity," or more poetically, "the inner fire." Tapas is the heat that builds when we commit to a practice—especially when it’s uncomfortable. It’s what keeps us coming back to our mat, to our breath, and to ourselves when things feel overwhelming.
