What would you tell a new parent considering taking prenatal or baby & me yoga classes?
I highly recommend taking prenatal and /or baby classes because we learn so much from the classes and attendees. I thought the best way to learn is from real-life experiences. Parents are also able to bond and become friends with each other.

My name is Sabrina, I am a first time mom of an almost one year old! I am an X-ray tech at UMC hospital. I’m also currently working on starting up an event planning business with my sister, called STRS Events!
September 2024 Student of the Month: Michelle
My name is Michelle. I just turned 30 years old in August. I have a one year old daughter named Eliana. Becoming a mom has been the best experience of my life. I was born in Los Angeles, however I moved to Las Vegas when I was 4 years old. My family is from Mexico. My professional background is in Social Work. I help children in foster care find their forever family and work with families through the adoption process.
July 2024 Student of the Month
My name is Cassie and I am a first time mom to my baby boy Wesley (Wes for short) although we didn’t intend to, we picked that name after Wes Craven, horror film director. Me and my husband are big horror fans and Scream was both our first movie that got us into horror. I am an artist that loves to paint with acrylics and oils in my free time. I can’t wait to show Wesley how to paint and create with me.

How has your practice impact your parenting?
It impacts so many different areas, PYLV is a whole-person approach, where you train your body, mind, and soul. It helps me to reduce my physical symptoms during pregnancy. Also, it helps me to reduce my anxiety and makes me feel that I am not alone in this journey.

Yoga in the First Trimester
The main concern for not practicing yoga or physical activity in the first trimester is pregnancy loss. Pregnancy loss is fairly common and happens for a variety of reasons. Most pregnancy loss in the first trimester happen due a developmental reason that you do not have any control over.
Pregnancy and Birth Story of Baby Olivia
From start to finish, the pregnancy and birth was so different from my previous children. Pregnancy and birth are so different, no matter if the parents are circumstances are similar. This is a new person. I am also a different person.
The Story of My Pelvis
The story of our pelvis is a combination of what we learn from our families, friends and media, the actions of others, and our physical health. Messages about our menstural cycle and sexuality are especially important. Sexual assult is so common in American society, I can't help but wonder the cumulative effects. Naturally if part of the body has been injured or hurt, there is a natural guarding. After years of guarding, the muscles shorten and become tense. Our pelvic floor muscles work in tandem with other muscles groups. Tightness in one area can affect the entire system.
