Meet Flavia

My name’s Flavia Franco. I am a mom of two. I’m a 200-hour trained yoga teacher with additional certification in prenatal and postpartum yoga, and I’m deeply passionate about supporting moms through every stage of motherhood, from pregnancy to postpartum and beyond!

When did you start taking classes with PYLV? I started taking classes with PYLV when I was pregnant with my first baby, right on my first weeks. Then I did their teacher training and started teaching for them during the second trimester of my pregnancy.

What have you learned since taking classes with PYLV? So much! I can’t even compare the person I was to the person I am now. I learned how important it is to slow down, listen to my body, and give myself grace through all the changes.

But mostly that motherhood isn’t meant to be done alone. It showed me the power of community!! Having a space where you feel supported, seen, and understood makes such a big difference, especially on those hard motherhood days!

What is your favorite yoga pose? Pigeon pose. It helps me release tension, and I just love the physical sensation of opening my hips and surrendering to the pose!

How has your practice impacted your parenting? Yoga has made me a more patient, present, and aware mom. It reminds me to pause, breathe, and respond instead of react, especially in the hard moments. It also helps me stay grounded and connected to myself, which I truly believe makes me a better parent.

What would you tell a new parent considering taking prenatal or baby & me yoga classes? Do it!!  Even if you’re unsure or feel a little out of your comfort zone. It’s not just about the movement, it’s about finding a community, sharing experiences, and feeling supported in this transformative and challenging moment of your life. Some of the connections you make there can become such an important part of your motherhood journey! I’ve made and actually keep making so many good friends through their classes, meetups, and events!
