The Power of Friendship and Yoga: Michelle and Sabrina’s Story
Friendship is a powerful bond, but when shared life experiences, like motherhood, are added to the mix, it creates something extraordinary. This is the story of Michelle and Sabrina—two long-time friends who have deepened their connection through Baby & Me Yoga, finding strength not only in their practice but also in their friendship.
Together, they’ve embraced the joys and challenges of motherhood while watching their daughters grow and thrive. Here’s a look into how Baby & Me Yoga has become a heartwarming ritual for them, their children, and their friendship.

Are You an Inclusive Yoga Teacher?
The yoga world, especially in the maternity and perinatal spaces, is often seen through a narrow lens. It's a space that's frequently heteronormative and typically dominated by images of white, skinny, able-bodied individuals. As yoga teachers, we have the power and responsibility to reshape this narrative—to make yoga more inclusive and welcoming space for everyone.

My Breastfeeding Journey
When I started my journey into motherhood, I had no idea that breastfeeding would become such a significant part of my life. I was the first in my family to breastfeed, despite my mother’s choice not to. Her encouragement, however, played a crucial role in my decision. Breastfeeding, as I would come to realize, was a journey filled with both joy and challenges. Each child brought a unique experience and a new set of lessons.

I can’t wait to show Wesley how to paint and create with me.

When did you start taking classes with PYLV?
I started taking classes in February of 2023 when I was about 2 months pregnant. Angela made it so easy to get started and I loved that I could start with zoom classes, especially as I was battling severe morning sickness during my first trimester. I was then able to attend classes in person after the morning sickness subsided, and thanks to Angela it was easy to shift from zoom to in person classes. I always felt very welcomed.

How has your practice impact your parenting?
It impacts so many different areas, PYLV is a whole-person approach, where you train your body, mind, and soul. It helps me to reduce my physical symptoms during pregnancy. Also, it helps me to reduce my anxiety and makes me feel that I am not alone in this journey.
