December 2024 Student of the Month: Kayla
What would you tell a new parent considering taking prenatal or baby & me yoga classes?
I 100% recommend classes at PYLV. Of course the classes themselves are great, you learn a lot and move your body in ways geared towards motherhood, but what really stands out to me is the community and safe space that has been curated. As a more introverted person, that has been something difficult to find. Everyone is so welcoming and it’s easily the highlight of my week!

When did you start taking classes with PYLV?
I started taking classes in February of 2023 when I was about 2 months pregnant. Angela made it so easy to get started and I loved that I could start with zoom classes, especially as I was battling severe morning sickness during my first trimester. I was then able to attend classes in person after the morning sickness subsided, and thanks to Angela it was easy to shift from zoom to in person classes. I always felt very welcomed.
February 2024 Student of the Month
I have learned so much since taking classes with PYLV but one of the things that stuck to me is that having a strong group of women during pregnancy and motherhood is very important. Sharing stories and experiences with other moms definitely make it very enjoyable.
My Top 3 Postnatal Yoga Poses
What yoga poses are safe to do after baby? This question comes up a lot for new parents. The biggest rule of thumb for all poses and movement - can your breath continuously? If the breath is shallow or labored, it is an indication that your body might not be ready for pose or movement.
Balancing Table Pose
Balancing table pose has a few different names, depending on who you have taken the class with and their trainings. Also known as Sunbird pose, Bird Dog pose or Sanskrit name, Dandayamana Bharmanasana. This is one of my must practice poses for both my prenatal and postnatal students.
