January 2025 Student of the Month: Noa

Meet Noa

Hello PYLV community! My name is Noa. I became a mom in July 2023. My baby girl, Moriah is now 18 months.

About Noa

My interest of expression through movement and poses started at the age of 3. I studied, performed and taught ballet all the way through my young adult life. At around 20, I took my first yoga class with my mom. I found my mind and body connection simply through breath in yoga. I found yoga to be a way of life, committing to daily practice both on and off my mat. My husband I relocated to Las Vegas from Seattle, Washington in May of 2023, where we now call our forever home.

When did you start taking classes with PYLV?

I started taking classes with PYLV after completing and receiving my 200-hr RYT teacher training certification in August of 2024 here in Las Vegas.

After completing my first yoga teacher training, I was seeking community where I could truly heal in mind and body and feel safe sharing my birth story and support others within this prenatal and postnatal community. After my first student intro phone call with Angela, the owner and founder of PYLV, I knew that this training was the true beginning of my postnatal recovery in both mind and body. I began my 100-hr RPYT course in August of 2024 and I have found my passion to help others within this community find healing and expression through yoga.

I found that through my training and commitment to my practice of yoga, both as a student and as a teacher, I found yoga again as a way of living and breathing both in practice on my mat and off my mat.

What is your favorite yoga pose?

I have so many favorite yoga poses but if I am to pick one…shavasana. The reason I choose shavasana is because thru my postnatal healing I have struggled with quieting my mind and letting go. Although it is not a physically challenging pose for me, it is mentally challenging and that is why I love it. I have learned to release and let go and relax my mind thru shavasana.

What would you tell a new parent considering taking prenatal or baby & me yoga classes?

Prenatal yoga classes are so important to prepare mind and body for baby. Baby & me classes are so beneficial for postnatal recovery as mom & baby are connected as one and move thru poses together. My baby girl and I love Tot & Me Yoga (for ages 12 months to 3 years).  To be able to practice yoga with my daughter is a dream come true.
