100-hr Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Program
Course Overview


Our Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training is over 100-hours and is a comprehensive program designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently teach prenatal yoga. This Yoga Alliance approved course covers a range of topics, ensuring a well-rounded and in-depth understanding of prenatal yoga instruction.

We believe that learning is best over a period of time to apply knowledge and skills learned. Our program takes a comprehensive, offering training in two main sections, plus two weekly series, practicum and electives. Our goal is develop highly qualified and confident yoga teachers.

  • Prenatal Teaching Methods & Skills (10 hours)
    - Basic Teaching Skills

    Business of Yoga (2.5 hours)
    - Basic Legal and Financial Principals

    Teaching for Pregnancy Conditions (15 hours)
    - Learn over 30 different pregnancy conditions
    - Practice teaching for pregnancy conditions

  • The Goddesses of Yoga (6 hours)

    Live or pre-recorded virtual series of the Goddesses of Yoga. Trainees will learn about Lakshmi, Durga, Kali and Parvati. There are a total of 4 classes, each session is 90 minutes long and includes a workbook.

    Yoga of the Subtle Body for Pregnancy and Beyond (12 hours)

    Live or pre-recorded virtual series of the Yoga of the Subtle Body & Pregnancy. Trainees will learn about the subtle body and how it relates to pregnancy, birth and beyond. There is a total of 6 classes, each class is 120 minutes and includes a workbook.

    Yoga for Birth & Comfort Measures (2.5 hours)

    In person, Yoga for Birth & Comfort Measures workshop. Trainees will learn alongside pregnant couples to understand the stages of labor and how they can prepare for birth. If trainee has attended a previous childbirth education class within 12 months of training, that may fulfill this section.

  • Practicum is divided into two parts, Observation and Supervised Teaching.

    Observation (10 hours)
    Trainees are required to attend 10 hours of prenatal yoga classes. 6 of those hours must be completed at a PYLV class. 4 of those hours maybe taken at another studio.

    Supervised Teaching (15 hours)
    Trainees will practice teaching prenatal yoga classes under the guidance of a Lead Trainer. Supervised teaching may start anytime. Trainees must arrange with Lead Trainer to get on the Supervised Training Schedule. Trainees will teach a 1 hour class followed by an approximate 30 minutes of feedback. Supervised teaching will only be offered during select class times.

  • Trainees are required to fulfill 10 contact or non-contact elective hours. Electives can be additional classes, workshops or events attended through PYLV or community classes outside of PYLV. Trainees may elect to complete a special project under guidance of Lead Trainer. All electives must be selected with guidance of Lead Trainer.
